Hannah Aubry is leaving Mastodon after her time with us as community director and board member. We’re very grateful for her contributions, ideas, and commitment to Mastodon and the fediverse. Thank you, Hannah! We wish you all the very best for what comes next.
After publishing the results of Discovery Week, we can now give you a first sneak peak at Mastodon 5.0, our next big version. It will bring a new visual look to your screens, a refreshed and calmer layout, as well as a new composer.

We're excited to share the results from Mastodon's first #DiscoveryWeek!
In case you missed it, earlier this year our Head of Design @imanijoy arranged a week of workshops and surveys to get to know you, learn about your needs and wants, and discover how you're using (and want to use) Mastodon.
This week was tremendously helpful for us, and we're grateful to everyone who participated.
Here's what we learned:

@TheRealPomax Great suggestion, thank you! We're putting that line in bold text now, and if you haven't already, you should receive an email with more details and a link to the new terms soon.
@sushubh Apologies! They should be working now, let us know if you still can't access them

Have you taken the @iftas Social Web Operations Survey yet? 🧐 There's only one day left!
It's time for our first Server Spotlight!
We want to help people find their communities across the #fediverse so we're featuring servers here on this account.
First up: The Mended Drum, a home for fans of all things Sir Terry Pratchett.
It is said that if you stay on The Mended Drum long enough, you'll meet every hero on the server: https://mendeddrum.org/directory
(keep an eye on your horse, though 😉)

Congratulations @pfefferle and @activitypub.blog, and thank you @nlnet and @NGIZero for all the ways you support the #Fediverse and #SocialWeb 💝
By the way, did you know you can also subscribe to Mastodon feeds via RSS? I know, right!!
Check out this helpful guide from @FediTips to learn how: https://fedi.tips/following-mastodon-and-fediverse-accounts-through-rss/
New in Mastodon 4.6: Newsletters 📬
Mastodon servers now support email newsletters, which allow people without a social web account to subscribe to your posts via email. This feature is opt-in at the server level.
We're building Mastodon for people and institutions that want independence from corporate-controlled social networks, so they can reach their audience directly wherever those people are.

Congratulations to @dansup on the new and improved https://fediverse.info!
Make sure to check it out, and while you're at it, share it with 5 people who haven't joined the #Fediverse yet 👀
